Will you participate?
Some people with albinism have trouble sleeping. Whether this is related to their albinism has not yet been properly investigated. This is why we, together with the Dutch Albinism Patient Association (Oogvereniging Albinisme), started a study to find out how often persons with albinism experience problematic sleep, and why some of them sleep better than others. With this research, we hope to find ways to improve the sleep of people with albinism in the future.
Do you have albinism, are you 18 years or older, and would you like to help us? Please take part in our research! It doesn’t matter how well you sleep, we are looking for both good and bad sleepers.
In addition, for each participant with albinism, we are also looking for people without albinism from the same environment to participate in this study. We would therefore like to ask you to invite one or two friends or acquaintances without albinism (not blood relatives) to participate in this study. This way, we can investigate whether people with albinism sleep worse than others without albinism, and, if so, why.
The study consists of completing online questionnaires at a time that suits you. If you would like to participate, please register below for the Netherlands Sleep Registry. After you have logged in, complete the questionnaire 'Participate in Albinism and Sleep study' under ‘my tests and results’. You will then receive instructions by e-mail for completing the study questionnaires and for inviting friends or acquaintances without albinism to participate. If you have any questions, please get in touch with us at info@slaapregister.nl.
